The Maudsley name is internationally renowned for mental health innovation, thought leadership and outstanding clinical care. With history dating back to the foundation of Bethlem Royal Hospital in 1247, our organisation is the oldest psychiatric institution in the world.

Today, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is a leading NHS trust that provides the largest portfolio of specialist mental health services in the UK. The Trust is a founding member of King’s Health Partners, one of only six Academic Health Science Centres in the UK leading the translation of cutting edge research directly into innovative clinical practice. Many internationally recognised ‘gold standards’ of mental healthcare were developed  at the Maudsley.

Maudsley Private Care  provides quick and easy access to the Maudsley’s expert clinicians, many of whom are at the forefront of research and training in their field. Put simply, Maudsley Private Care is here to provide very best care for families, young people and adults of all ages.

We provide private outpatient assessment and treatment for a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression and specialist areas such as neuropsychiatry and eating disorders. To find out more about the conditions we treat visit Our Services.

Outpatient services are based in our consulting rooms at 10 Windsor Walk, a few minutes’ walk from Denmark Hill station in Zone 2. We also offer remote video consultations.  

We offer services for patients wishing to pay for their own private care. We also welcome Embassy-funded overseas patients that would like to access our services virtually or in the UK. We are in the process of registering with medical insurance, this may be finalised within the coming months.

Any profits generated from Maudsley Private Care are reinvested back into South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust to support NHS services and infrastructure.
